In accordance with Clause 45 of the Constitution of Tonga and Section 25 of the National Reserve Bank of Tonga Act, the Bank made changes to Tonga’s current 5 & 10 seniti circulating coins to be easily identified by the public for their everyday cash transactions.
Changes of design includes the following:
- Enlarging the numerals “5”& “10” and reducing the size of the Heilala flower and Malau bird on the reverse side or back of coin; and
- Date of issue to read “2018” on the front side of the coin.
