The Public is notified that the National Reserve Bank of Tonga old fifty pa’anga banknotes depicting the portrait of His Majesty King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV, all the one pa’anga banknotes and existing coins issued prior to 2014 will no longer be legal tender after 30 September 2015.

BANKNOTES & COINS TO EXCHANGE

His Majesty King Tupou VI, launched the Kingdom of Tonga’s new coronation currency series on 29th June 2015 at the Fa’onelua Convention Centre in Nuku’alofa. The new coronation currency consists of a new series of coins to replace the old coins and new banknotes with advanced security features.
